If you are flying into the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) on July 4th, 2019, please be advised that the airport has issued a flight delay warning, especially for late afternoon and evening flights.
- Check flight status directly with your airline. Some flights will be delayed at various times due to fireworks, fly-overs and other event-related activities downtown.
- Expect roadway congestion near the airport due to heavy pedestrian activity and event-related roadway closures.
- Consider using Metrorail instead of driving to the airport. The airport station offers normal train service to/from points north in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Free shuttles will continue operating from the closed Metro stations in Alexandria.
NOTE: There are no fireworks viewing sites at DCA.
