DCA Warns of July 4th Flight Delays

Posted on Wed, Jul 03, 2019

If you are flying into the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) on July 4th, 2019, please be advised that the airport has issued a flight delay warning, especially for late afternoon and evening flights.

  • Check flight status directly with your airline. Some flights will be delayed at various times due to fireworks, fly-overs and other event-related activities downtown.
  • Expect roadway congestion near the airport due to heavy pedestrian activity and event-related roadway closures.
  • Consider using Metrorail instead of driving to the airport. The airport station offers normal train service to/from points north in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Free shuttles will continue operating from the closed Metro stations in Alexandria.

NOTE: There are no fireworks viewing sites at DCA
