Part 91 Operators can apply for DASSP even though they do not hold a certificate; since the FAA Records Check require a certificate number, Part 91 Operators cannot do an FAA Records Check e.g. PRIA. Instead of doing an FAA Records Check, which would be done for Operators with certificate numbers, Part 91 Operators require the Airman File Check.
The Airman File Check is supported by the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and requests information on Medical Records, Accident and Incident, or Violation Information from the FAA.
In order for those records to be released, the pilot under review must complete the Request Airman File Check Form, which is provided below.
